Henderson Has A Lot to Offer
Henderson, Nevada is the second largest city in the state
with over 300,000 calling it home. It is ranked as one of the “best cities to
live in America” by Businessweek and Bloomberg. Just a short, 15-minute drive
from the Las Vegas Strip, Henderson soaks up the desert sun and refreshes
itself in Lake Mead all year round. Green Valley offers up a diverse list of
luxury options for individuals and families alike.
Explore this incredible city, its communities, entertainment
and relaxation options below, you never know what you’re going to get in
Henderson.
Communities
Henderson is home to countless award-winning communities.
The quality of life offered by this incredible gem in the desert is second to
none, and luxury lifestyle has quickly become an expectation for residents of
this lovely city. Even the former Mayor, Jim Gibson, “The American dream lives
itself out every day in this city…We have something for just about everybody.”
Henderson is also one of the only full-service cities in
Southern Nevada, which means it has its own police, fire, and water services
allowing residents to live more efficiently.
Some of the communities
that benefit from these services include Anthem Country Club, Anthem Highlands,
Cadence, Calico Ridge, Foothills Macdonald Ranch, Fountains, Green Valley
Estates and Inspirada.
From gated areas to vast green spaces, these communities
provide a unique opportunity to experience Nevada and the Las Vegas area. The
spacious living options of Inspirada attract young families while the luxury of
the custom-made homes in Green Valley Estates draws
single people who want to be close to The Strip. No matter if you want a
Tuscany retreat or a full-scale Southwestern ranch, you’ll find the perfect
home in gorgeous Green Valley. There truly is something for every type of
family, individual, and lifestyle preference.
Lifestyle
But what’s it like to live
in Henderson, apart from the real estate? Well, there’s quite a bit!
Henderson is a large city, and as such doesn’t skimp on the nightlife or day time attractions. In fact, the
diversity of what it offers has earned it a spot on several family vacation lists.
Since it’s only about 20 miles from the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas, it has its
own list of must-do activities. And for families, the area is home to multiple
colleges and universities.
Another advantage to living in Henderson is living near some
very famous athletes including NFL Hall of Famer Tom Mack and Notre Dame
football star “Rudy” Ruettiger. Should baseball be more your thing, then you
might be more excited to learn that Frank Thomas and Tyler Houston call the
city home as well.
But if you’re looking to get outside and experience the
city’s natural beauty, then you might want to check out Lake Las Vegas. Constructed
in Henderson, it is a 320-acre lake that is home to tons of fish including
great basin bonefish, trout, bluegill and largemouth
bass. You’ll find plenty of luxury resorts trickled along its shores, and
boaters playing in its calm waters during the warmer months.
When you’re done exploring Lake Las Vegas, you can explore
some 50 public parks throughout the city. That’s more parks per capita than any
other city in Nevada. The city is so ‘green’ that it is even been called “Tree
City USA” thanks to the resident’s who are determined to make it a desert
oasis.
Residents also cherish their weekend farmers markets where
they can gather the local, fresh produce they need to stay fit and healthy. If
you’re into green parks and relaxing lakes, then Henderson might be right up
your alley.
Activities
When you’re done exploring the lake and the parks, check out
some of the city’s hiking trails, bike lanes, and crazy landscaping. The city
has made a habit out of doing unique stuff
and doesn’t leave out its landscaping
either.
But if you do want to head indoors, then you might want to
explore some of the city’s art galleries. The three most prominent are City
Lights, Old Town, and Plaza. Every year, some 200 artists share their art with
the community as well, while families
experience local music, food, and special events for the little ones. You can
also explore the Clark County Museum and learn about how Southern Nevada was
formed and the Native Americans who originally founded the area. Kids can
explore the walk-in mind and multiple other exhibits designed just for them. Special
events happen at the museum throughout the year, so check their website in
advance for details.
A couple of times per year Henderson gets fancy for the
Nevada Chamber Symphony. The symphony also does an outdoor event so you can
kick back and relax while being serenaded.
For something more somber, but important, pay your respects
to the Veteran’s Memorial Wall on Water Street. There you’ll find the names of
some 1,000 soldiers who fought for their country and helped build Henderson’s
legacy.
Henderson is also surprisingly affordable considering how
much it offers residents.
Summary
Henderson is a lovely green city with tons to do, see and
explore, and offers the luxury that many of its residents expect. A stone’s
throw away from the best that Vegas can offer, one of the best parts of living
here is the easy access to region’s top casinos, entertainment spots, and restaurants.
Become a part of Vegas in a way that you like, when you call Henderson your new
